These following verses prove that imagination is evil:
1) And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. - Genesis 6:5-6
2) And the LORD smelled a sweet smell; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. - Genesis 8:21
3) And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. - Genesis 11:6
4) The wicked in his pride does persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. - Psalm 10:2
5) But they listened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. - Jeremiah 7:24
6) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; - 2 Corinthians 10:5
In contrast, you can read this 'New Age' article 'The Power of Imagination', which supports 'Imagination' as a self improvement method and encourages it's practice to better ones life. What they're really saying is to release ones sin and to stay away from God and His words. It is just one of the many teachings that deceive people and make them turn away from God.
We as human beings, we are naturally sinful and it's only in Jesus we can suppress our body's craving to do sin. So before you listen and follow other 'seemingly' harmless teachings, expose it first to light of the word of God and then know the truth. And if you haven't accepted Jesus Christ yet into your life, DO IT NOW!
Pray the Sinner's Prayer and speak every word with your mouth:
Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus.
I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner,
and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived;
I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ
shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary
and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word,
Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God
and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead,
we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul.
With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead.
This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior
and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins.
I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license,
but rather it always leads to repentance.
Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory
and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
Amen.
