Are Mormons Christian? What do they believe about the Bible? Are they polytheistic? What about polygamy?

These are a few of the questions that came up in researching the “Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints” (LDS). The study was prompted by the excellently produced ”I’m a Mormon” commercials on radio, TV, and billboards. The LDS has spent a lot of money on advertising to (1) showcase Mormons as wonderful members of society and (2) promote the LDS church as a mainstream Christian denomination. But, while the first statement is true, this second assertion is false.

Our goal is not to make a political statement. This exploration goes far beyond Earthly politics! As we studied we found drastic deviations between the roots and teaching of Mormonism and Christianity. These deviations strike at the heart of the nature of God, salvation by grace, and the work of Jesus Christ.
